Scheming white lotus(4.16) - Who did you say you like? (2)
Xiang Han shook his head to clear these thoughts, recalling what the system had just told him, [Right, Little Nine, what was it you wanted to say earlier on?]
[Ah?] System was called back to its senses and replied, [I just checked the record, Chang Yu Chi went to Club Zero yesterday.]
Club Zero was a high-class establishment, ranking right after Brilliant Jade and did not allow students in. However, for those with money and power, it was a different story.
Xiang Han thought for a bit before speaking, [It’s fine to not mention it. Monitor Club Zero and wait for Chang Yu Chi to show up before informing me immediately.]
[Chang Yu Chi hasn’t left yet.] System said in a low voice.
Xiang Han, [...Amazing. So young, yet he isn’t afraid of kidney deficiency?]
Big A, [Cough, these words shouldn’t be said in front of him. Otherwise, it may really come true.]
Xiang Han thought, [If it’s Chang Yu Chi, what’s wrong with it?] He would be saving others from this misfortune.
Big A rejoiced internally. Thankfully, Xiang Han couldn’t see him.
Even when night fell, Chang Yu Chi didn’t leave.
With Shen Zheng Duo and Zhu Jing Yi working overtime, Xiang Han was bored to tears. Only he and Shen Ze were left at home.
Shen Ze sat on the sofa, watching TV but his mood seemed to be rather low. He kept switching channels, unable to continue watching one for more than five minutes at a time.
Coming up with an idea, Xiang Han stood up and threw him a glance. He coughed lightly, “Elder brother, do you want to go out for a bit?”
Watching him come closer, Shen Ze’s heart leapt in surprise, thinking his stealthy glances had been caught. After listening, he sighed in relief and regained his indifference, “Where to?”
“What about Club Zero?” Xiang Han’s eyes lit up, thinking, as long as Shen Ze saw Chang Yu Chi’s promiscuous ways, his feelings would instantly evaporate.
When he was with Gu Hai Sheng, what sort of places had he not been to? After hearing the name, he instantly refused, “No way.”
“Why not?” Xiang Han asked anxiously.
“That place doesn’t allow students in.” Shen Ze’s face was expressionless, but his tone wasn’t good.
“But...don’t you have a card?” Xiang Han glanced at him before lowering his head to stare at his fingers.
Don’t think he didn’t know Shen Ze had gone to those sort of places no fewer than 10 times.
Shen Ze put down the remote with a frown, “Why do you want to go there?”
“Just… for the experience.”
“Then, there’s no need. It can’t be compared to Brilliant Jade.”
Xiang Han gritted his teeth and stood up, “Forget it, I’ll go by myself.”
Who cared about the security? He just needed to use some spiritual force to settle them. Otherwise, he would just take a couple of photos or if he was unsuccessful, he would just fabricate them and act as if he had discovered them completely on accident. Then, he would tell this to Shen Ze like a juicy piece of gossip. It was bound to be effective.
Seeing how he intended to go by himself, Shen Ze’s face turned dark. He didn’t waste any time in switching off the TV.
Xiang Han looked at him and exclaimed, “Oh?” while Shen Ze remained expressionless. When Shen Ze walked past him, he said, “Oh what? Didn’t you want to go? Still not moving?”
Xiang Han hurried to catch up to him, his heart feeling extremely fishy. Shen Ze, he...seemed rather off since this morning.
Reaching Club Zero, Shen Ze intended to reserve a private room to have some drinks with Xiang Han before leaving but Xiang Han insisted on heading towards the dance floor. He could only agree begrudgingly.
The dance floor was normally fine, but every few days in a month, they would be closed. In reality, it was in order to host VIPs.
After Shen Ze entered, he discovered the chaotic and disorderly situation. Knowing today was one of those days, he instantly pulled Xiang Han to leave.
Meanwhile, Xiang Han brushed him off, “Since we’re already here, let’s take a look.”
Saying so, his eyes lit up and like a lightning bolt, he flashed all over the place. It didn’t take him long to find Chang Yu Chi, who was currently engaged in a passionate kiss with a hot blonde woman.
Xiang Han became instantly excited, grabbing onto Shen Ze with feigned shock, “Isn’t that Chang Yu Chi from your class?”
Shen Ze replied with a dark expression, “You’re holding the wrong person.”
Xiang Han quickly let go in embarrassment, “Sorry, ah…”
Before the word ‘ah’ was out, something else left him even more embarrassed. He had not only grabbed the wrong person, it was a plain-clothed officer 一 Lin Rui Qing.
Why was he always running into this person at this sort of place? Xiang Han cried sorrowfully in his heart, but appeared to obediently admit his mistakes, “O-Offi…”
“Little Han, what are you doing here? Don’t run around by yourself later, brother Lin will send you back.” Lin Rui Qing smiled and patted his head. When he said the words ‘brother Lin’, his tone seemed to grow heavier.
Xiang Han understood, Lin Rui Qing must be investigating something and couldn’t expose his identity. That was also right since he had already been transferred to the criminal investigation team. How could he still be in charge of cracking down on minors?
Lin Rui Qing was very satisfied, dragging him to Shen Ze’s side and saying, “Both of you, stay here obediently and follow me back to the station later.”
Xiang Han trembled, asking with a pitiful expression, “Brother Lin, my mom will probably beat me to death. Moreover, you...aren’t you no longer in charge of this area?”
Lin Rui Qing touched his head ‘dotingly’. “Be good. The public security has been too lax lately, it’s time they did some exercise.”
With a face full of tears, Shen Ze dragged him out of Lin Rui Qing’s hands with a cold face, “Are you happy now?”
“How would I know we would run into him?” Xiang Han cried tearfully. Recalling his original purpose, he quickly turned towards Chang Yu Chi who was still holding onto a blonde, and let out a breath. He jabbed Shen Ze, “Elder brother, look, that’s Chang Yu Chi from your class.”
“I already saw them earlier.” Shen Ze turned away with a hint of contempt, and at the same time, pinched the back of Xiang Han’s neck, forcing him to look away. After a moment, he was somewhat doubtful to see that Xiang Han didn’t seem unhappy at all, “How… How are you feeling now?”
“What do you mean how I’m feeling?” Xiang Han asked with uncertainty.
The corners of Shen Ze’s lips pulled up slightly and after a moment’s hesitation, he asked, “Didn’t you like him before?”
“Since when?” Xiang Han was dumbfounded. Afraid that it might cause a misunderstanding, he hurried and explained, “I’ve never liked him. I only looked at him once in a while, but that’s because I was figuring out his moral character.”
Figuring out his moral character? Was this to inspect him?
Shen Ze asked, “And, what’s the result?”
“Absolutely vile and unworthy of elder brother,” Xiang Han lamented bitterly.
Shen Ze’s eyes widened, his expression morphing into one of astonishment.
Xiang Han was still bitterly advising him, “Elder brother, you also saw it. He’s only in high school yet he’s already like a fish in water at these types of places, which means his private life is likely to be even messier than this. Oh right, I also heard that his grandfather and father were very frivolous. It’s hereditary, it can’t be changed…”
Shen Ze’s face turned green, as if he had swallowed a snake. “Which eye of yours saw that I have a crush on him? The one I like is obviously...you.”
“Bang!”
The moment his voice fell, a gunshot sounded, muffling the word ‘you’ as shrill screams rang through the air. His eyes turned cold and he hurriedly pressed Xiang Han to the ground, instructing him in a low voice, “Don’t move about and follow me closely.”
Afterwards, he observed their surroundings and attempted to look for an exit.
Before he could even take two steps, a well-built man suddenly stopped them in front of them, “Follow me.”
Shen Ze’s gaze was full of caution and with a flick of his wrist, a short and thin knife slid out from his sleeves, pressing against the man’s neck.
The man only felt a chill before he laughed bitterly, “It’s Officer Lin who asked me to protect you guys.”
Seeing how Shen Ze was still doubtful, he quickly took out his badge.
Shen Ze finally believed him and retracted the knife. Holding tightly to Xiang Han, he asked, “Why didn’t you let us leave before?”
The man was helpless, “You’ve come into contact with Officer Lin before. If you’d left immediately, we’re afraid it would arouse their suspicion. It’s our lack of foresight, we didn’t expect our enemy to carry a gun.”
Amidst the chaos, three of them squeezed through the crowd and finally escaped into the safe zone with much difficulty. The gangsters had seized a hostage and were currently tied in a deadlock with Officer Lin. Not so coincidentally, the hostage was Chang Yu Chi.
At this moment, Chang Yu Chi had been frightened into trembling and there was a suspicious looking patch, significantly darker, on his pants. He was desperately crying for help.
Shen Ze frowned, glancing at the distance between them before he abruptly raised an arm. A silver light flashed out, and pierced the gangster’s hand.
With a mournful scream, another shot sounded. Officer Lin and his subordinates rushed towards them to subdue the gangsters.
Chang Yu Chi sat frozen on the ground, unable to stand up. When he turned around and saw it was Shen Ze who had rescued him, his eyes instantly lit up. However, when he looked down at his own pants, his expression turned ugly.
The plain-clothed policemen who had come along with Shen Ze also froze before fuming, “Why didn’t you say anything before taking action? What if you missed and hurt someone else instead?”
“That’s impossible,” Shen Ze snorted. On the contrary, he did have the thought of harming a certain someone.
“Brother, don’t be too confident.” Xiang Han couldn’t help reminding him. He hadn’t used his ability; who knew what may have happened.
Shen Ze looked at him deeply, “I actually wished you had said something just now.
Xiang Han was speechless.
“Alright, this has nothing to do with us. Let’s go.” Shen Ze suddenly pulled him along and left. Before they walked halfway out, he reminded the man, “Oh right, that knife… once the investigation is over, can you…”
The man’s face turned dark. “Weapons regulation, I’m confiscating it.”
Shen Ze frowned, “It isn’t even as long as a fruit knife.”
“Whatever blade falls into your hands needs to be regulated,” The man said unhappily. Seeing that Shen Ze was intending to leave once more, he quickly intercepted, “Don’t leave yet, call your parents and give your statement at the station.”
This time, before Shen Ze could speak, Xiang Han had already opened his mouth with a smile. “Officer, we were only helping to protect the peace of this country.”
Shen Ze was flabbergasted, looking at him as he emphasised, “It’s me.”
“We’re family, it’s the same.” Xiang Han quickly coaxed him.
These words seemed to satisfy Shen Ze and thus, he didn’t say anything more.
However, the casual-clothed policeman said, “We still have to take your statement. We didn’t say you’d be punished, why are you so nervous? Don’t worry, you guys might even be rewarded.”
“We don’t need the reward. We want to be like Lei Feng [1], doing good without leaving a name.” The light in Xiang Han’s eyes seemed to be continuously flashing. Saying so, he quickly pulled Shen Ze to leave.
The man was stunned and unexpectedly, nodded and agreed without hesitation. By the time Lin Rui Qing returned and asked where they were, he still had an expression of confusion as he asked, “Who?”
After leaving the club, Shen Ze’s expression turned stiff but he calmly said, “In the future, you’re not allowed to look at other people, in that way.” He silently added another line in his heart, you’re only allowed to look at me.
“Okay.” Xiang Han was still feeling guilty and afraid that Shen Ze may have detected something, he quickly switched topics. “Speaking of which, who did you say you liked just now?”
Shen Ze, “...”

ReplyDeleteGood thinking to avoid the parents scolding to no end! But Ze finaly said he love Han while the latter didn't ear the former. What a bad timing.
